TECHNOLOGY
Biodiesel, methylesters of vegetable oils, has been established as an alternative source now since more than a decade. Since its first commercial production in the late eighties the technology has been vastly improved.
New processes offer
- a high flexibility in processing different feedstocks
- high yields with up to 100% conversion
- improved product quality
FEEDSTOCKS
Rapeseed oil is still the mostlly used feedstock, but others like palmoil are increasingly used. New technologies are capable to change to other feedstock or feedstock mixtures even on a daily basis, thereby guaranteeing maximum flexibility to actual market situations.
Particularly interesting is the use of unrefined vegetable oils and of recycled waste vegetable oil which usually have a high fatty acid content.
PRODUCT
Biodiesel offers the following advantages against diesel on mineral oil basis:
- High cetan number (54 to 58)
- Improved lubricity
- Low sulphur content (less than 10 ppm)
- Lower carbon dioxide emissions
- No benzene or aromatics
- Longer life for OxCatalysts
ENCO ENGINEERING in collaboration with a team of experts in this field is offering advanced technology for production of biodiesel. a process which can use oils with a fatty acid content of up to 20 percent.
