High value chemicals like bulk drugs are ideally produced in multipurpose plants, which offer an optimum flexibility to adapt to new market situations.
In addition to our experience in building such plants for major Swiss producers, we have access to a wide range of bulk drug processes. These processes are partly available through our own team of experts, who have worked for many years in the development and full scale production of pharmaceuticals, partly they are available through well established licensors.
PLANTS
Pharmacological activity of pharmaceutical products is very often connected with their chemical structure. Products with the same activity are chemically very close and are produced by using the same chemical reactions. For that reason the production of pharmaceuticals and relevant intermediates is usually based on unit methods of the organic chemistry. By using combinations of technological unit operations the production of different products in the same equipment is possible. Minor adjustments or additions may be necessary from product to product, to meet the particularity of each single process. The flexibility of such plants allows to produce in the future additional new products in the same plant.
