Trichloroisocyanuric Acid Technology

Trichloroisocyanuric acid is an excellent, highly concentrated source of available chlorine, primarly used in cleaning, bleaching, disinfecting and sanitizing in the industrial and institutional field and as a biocide in water treatment. It contains 90 % of available chlorine, the highest rate of all solid chlorinators.Starting from urea and chlorine the process offers the opportunity of converting excess chlorine into a valuable product.A liquid nitrogen fertilizer solution is obtained as a by-product, either ammonium nitrate or ammonium chloride, selected depending on the local market situation.

PROCESS ADVANTAGES

Cyanuric Acid Process

  • Safe process, well proven since many years in commercial plant.
  • High product purity.
  • No solvents are used in the process. Handling of hazardous substances and environmental problems are avoided.
  • Effluents of the plant can be used to produce a liquid nitrogen fertilizer. No waste water is arising from this section.

Trichloroisocyanuric Acid Process

  • The formation of highly hazardous nitrogentrichloride is completely avoided by carefully selecting and monitoring process parameters.
  • Very high available chlorine content of the product.
  • Effluents from the process can after treatment be reused in chloroalkaline electrolysis.
